Today I took some photos!

So, today I dusted off my camera, grabbed my kids and took advantage of hay-baling day! We were only out about ten minutes because even at 4pm it was super hot. But it was good to be back behind the camera again. Get in touch if you want some socially distanced outdoor photographs taking of your children or family!

Instagram Milestone!

This evening I hit 400 followers on Instagram. This may not seem like a lot but for someone who doesn’t ‘do’ Instagram I’m pretty pleased and I value every one of my followers. That being said, if you don’t already follow me, why don’t you? Head on over there now and hit follow, see if you can get me to 500 ??

Wedding Insurance: Advice

It’s something I get asked about sometimes, but probably not as often as I should. And I know it’s something a lot of people have never heard of or didn’t realise that they needed. It doesn’t cost a lot and covers you in the event of you having to cancel or re-arrange your wedding due to illness or other extreme circumstances, supplier failure or any extra liability cover if you need it. With all the news around the Coronavirus being quite scary, today’s headlines speak about a potential three month shutdown of events and public activities for example, having insurance for the biggest and most costly day of your life is important. Here’s a little bit of advice from MoneySavingExpert.com and please consider it if you have your wedding booked, some policies even cover you for things you’ve already booked! https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/wedding-insurance/

Coronavirus Statement 17.3.20

As the situation in the UK develops I’m sure everyone is worried about what this means for weddings this year. And unfortunately, there seems to be no answers yet. As much as I’m hoping that there will be no disruption no-one knows what’s going to happen. At present, there are no restrictions on events so as far as I’m concerned I’m ready and willing to work. Should a ban come into place then decisions will need to be made. Postponement seems the best and most likely option, and I want to work with you to ensure that you get the wedding that you want so I ask that as soon as you have an idea that you may be postponing, to please get in touch and let me know. The sooner I have notice of this, the sooner I can advise you of available dates to swap you across to. With everyone working together; venues, venue dressers, florists etc. you stand the best chance of being able to keep all the suppliers you’ve already booked. It’s a worrying and difficult time, one like I’ve never known in nearly 13 years of being a wedding photographer. I’m here if you need to chat, just send me a PM ??

Coronavirus Update 19.3.20

For anyone who are considering postponement, just to let you know I do have weekend availability for mid-late 2020. My best advice if you’re wanting to swap your wedding date is to double check my availability before confirming dates with your venue(s). I can give you all available options to enable the best chance of being able to swap your booking across. I don’t mind if we go back and forth a few times over the course of a day to get you a date suitable for everyone! Government advice is changing daily and I’m doing my best to keep myself informed of any new guidelines and restrictions. It’s an uncertain and worrying time, stay safe and send me a PM if you want to discuss your booking.

Coronavirus Update 20.3.20

As the government has officially closed bars and restaurants we have confirmation that some upcoming weddings may not be going ahead on their intended date. My thoughts are especially with my bride and groom who were supposed to be getting married tomorrow who only found out this evening that their wedding couldn’t go ahead. And to everyone who I’ve spoken to this week, reassured and rearranged, I’m so sorry that it has come to this. But at the same time, it’s important that we all follow the government’s guidelines. I’ll be in getting in touch with my upcoming weddings next week, if I’ve not already spoken to you this week, or feel free to call me over the weekend if you’d like to speak with me sooner. Stay safe ??

Please Email Me!

Just a reminder that if you’ve spoken with me via messenger to arrange swapping your wedding booking then please can you confirm your postponement, including the new wedding date, in an email to studio@victoriareed.co.uk. As you can probably understand, I’m busy trying to accommodate everyone and it would help me massively if I have everyone’s details in the same place! Thank you!

Coronavirus Update 23.3.20

For anyone who I’ve been speaking to regarding swapping your wedding date, if you haven’t done it yet please can you confirm the cancellation of your existing date and let me know your new date via email. As you can probably understand, I’m dealing with a lot of requests and I want to make sure I keep all my paperwork up to date so having all the information in the same place would be super helpful. For anyone that was wanting to book for 2021 or for late 2020, I’d advise getting booked in quickly to secure your date. With most weddings over the next few weeks currently rearranging it’s limiting my availability so please, if you’ve already spoken to me about potentially booking, consider making it definite before your date becomes unavailable! Thank you to everyone’s support of my business at this difficult time, I’m trying my best to accommodate everyone. It’s a worrying and unprecedented situation, and I’m grateful to every one of you who has shown their support. I hope everyone is staying safe ??

Happy Easter!

It’s probably not the Easter weekend we all had planned but at least we’re staying home and staying safe. I couldn’t resist getting my camera out for the first time in over a month to photograph my little people. Just a reminder that I’m still here and still taking bookings for late 2020, 2021 and 2022. Hope to see you all soon!

Update from the Government Website 11.5.20

With a lot of spring 2020 weddings postponed to later on in the year and the majority of my wedding bookings still booked in from August onwards, I hope this could be a little bit of hope for people getting married this year! I’m currently expecting a super busy 2021, so it’s important for anyone wishing to get booked in to do so as quickly as possible. I’m still taking new bookings, including for late 2020. The booking fee required is £200 and bookings can be made without any contact. I’m happy to discuss via Messenger, telephone or email, and I have a price guide available to download with plenty of information should you require it. Hope I’ll be seeing you all soon!

NEW! Couple Photoshoots

So, with the wedding industry at a halt and so many of my bookings postponed for either later in the year or next year, I’ve been looking at what I can do during the summer months when we get the go ahead from the government to start working in public again. With no date in mind just yet, I’m going to be offering couple shoots (or family shoots if you wish your children to join in too) throughout the summer and autumn months. You’ll also have the option of turning one of your photos into a change of date postcard/folded card to send to your guests, or as a digital file to email or use on social media. More designs available and I can work to your requirements! Prices will start at £50 for the shoot and five digital images to download. Extra images can be purchased after previews have been sent and change of date graphic will be priced depending on which option you choose. Times and locations to be confirmed and you don’t have to be using me for your wedding photography to book!

Coronavirus Statement 28.5.20

Due to the updated government guidelines last night I’m pleased to say that I will now be able to offer face to face consultations. Here are the guidelines I will be following- - meetings must be held outdoors (so I will consult the weather forecast the morning of your appointment to avoid any damage to my sample albums from inclement weather). - no more than 6 people can be in attendance (5 plus me). - anyone not living in the same household must stay 2 metres apart. - sample albums will be placed into storage and quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before being touched by other customers. - hand sanitiser will be available for use although fetching your own will be advised. - paperwork will be completed with minimal contact and payments can be accepted online. ALTERNATIVELY - sample albums can be dropped off at your home for you to view at your leisure, within 20 miles of Barnsley, and will be collected 24-48 hours later (socially distanced). I know I’ve had a few people ask when I will be available to meet so I will be in contact with you to arrange your appointments. Thanks for your patience while we navigate these new guidelines together!

NEW! Small Wedding Package 2020

We still don’t know what the immediate future of weddings may be, it might be that the government will start to allow smaller outdoor ceremonies soon or allow register offices to open for limited numbers. Smaller weddings can be lovely, with plenty of time for bride and groom formal portraits and lots of venues have beautiful outdoor ceremony options (see below for the outdoor set up I photographed at Bagden Hall Hotel last year). Hopefully we will know more soon about what will be allowed over the next couple of months. SMALL WEDDING PACKAGE £350 - attendance from just before the ceremony to the end of the bride and groom formal portraits, including any group photos of guests that are allowed - photos edited and put onto a usb stick with full license to print - slideshow of all photos set to music New bookings for selected 2020 dates only (dependent on if and when the government’s restrictions on weddings are lifted). Message me for more information.
